Overview

Awareness & Restoration Foundation (South Africa) is a non-profit organisation which is a sister organisation to Awareness & Restoration Foundation (Arizona, USA). We conduct FREE Mental Wellness workshops and seminars that help youth in communities to proactively manage a wide variety of issues that affect mental health. Our programs are positioned to support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical health and wellness. In addition, we will volunteer to bring positive change to needy communities.

At Awareness & Restoration Foundation (South Africa) we aim to raise awareness of mental health among young people in South Africa and address the growing mental health crisis. By promoting mental health awareness, we can reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and encourage young people to seek support when needed. It is crucial to foster a supportive environment where young people feel comfortable discussing issues that affect their mental health and seeking help without judgment or shame.

Youth mental health refers to the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of young people. It encompasses how young people think, feel, and behave. Mental health issues and challenges can affect young people’s overall functioning and can manifest as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm, and substance use. On the other hand, good mental health is characterized by the ability to cope with stress, form positive relationships, and make healthy choices. It is important for young people to develop the resilience they need to cope with life and develop as well-rounded, healthy adults, hence creating a healthy happy community.
